  • Two dead weeping tree roses



    Richard Owens Nursery, Exciting Gardens, sent me two dead weeping tree roses. I waited several months for the plants to be replaced and I just received what looks like a cane off of a climbing rose with nothing grafted on the top. One of the plants was pretty well broken up on the top as well. As weeping rose trees are climbing roses with a graft of the weeping rose on the top I was very disappointed. this was the first company that I ordered plants from that I have had a problem with.   • Don't buy garden products from this company



    My aunt had bought plants from Richard Owen Nursery Spring & Gardens for a few years now, she had been patience when the pkg.had arrived with dry-dead plants. It's been four months sinced she placed her order this year, so far theres' been two packages delivered with incommplete and again dead plants in the last package. At one point we tryed to cancel the order but they do not accept phone cancelations, and at the time of the call the customer rep. could not locate the order. I have being calling their phone # but is always buzzy...So NO MORE BUYING FROM THEM....waist of... More...

  • Pot with dirt



    I order some plants from this supplier and received a very small pot with some dirt in a plastic mailing envelope. I got in touch with them and they required the shipping label which I had not kept. When I complained they tried to tell me they would make an exception and I needed to send them a copy of my credit card statement to validate the purchase. I have told them I won't buy from them again and to cancel the rest of my order which they will try to locate before it ships. I don't have much hope. I will never buy from them again. More...

  • Dead Plants



    On July 9, 2008 I placed and order through the Exciting Gardens website (order #32539374). Several weeks later I received several dead and dying plants in the mail. I tried to rescue them, but unfortunately they all died. I contacted the Richard Owens Nursery, the company behind the Exciting Gardens website, and they told me if I returned the original shipping label they would send me replacement plants.     I ordered plants from this nursery. Once they arrived, half were dead and the other half died within a few days. I called the nursery and they told me I could get replacements so I returned the original shipping label and three weeks later received MORE DEAD PLANTS. I called, got them to send more replacements and received my third shipment of DEAD PLANTS. I wrote and requested a full refund, and they sent me a credit with their store. They post a phone number everywhere but every time I have called it , it is a busy signal??

I ordered many plants from them. They arrived in a tiny package with the dirt washed off the roots. They sure look dead but perhaps not.

I sure which I had found the above information about Richard Owen Nursery in spring of 2008. I had the same problem. My plants were dead when arrived and I called many times and received the run around. Each person had a different story. I sent the label but the label must have been lost in the mail. I believe they toss the return labels in the trash. I was told that Grace Avery was the only one that could help me. But, she did not talk on the phone. What a sorry nursery. I will never order from them again nor will I recomend them to anyone.
